Friendly Visitor Program

Library services for the homebound

The Friendly Visitor Program is a county-wide, free service for seniors and disabled adults who are unable to get to their local library.  Screened, trained visitors deliver books and audio books and stay for a visit.  Voluteers can also read to those who have difficulty reading or listening to audio books.  Additionally, the program sponsors Book Talk events at senior residence facilities, and purchases large print books and audio books for local public libraries.  This program is a demonstration of the proposed library district for Union County and is funded by a grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust.  For more information, to obtain a volunteer application, or to request this free service, please call 963-4039.
